Job summary

Tidewater Physicians for Women in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, VA, seeks a skilled Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer specialized in OB/GYN to perform diagnostic ultrasounds, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with physicians. You will review charts, document findings in EMR, and maintain AIUM standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in obstetrics, ARDMS obstetrics certification preferred, and can perform all trimester scans, with in-person work in a two-location practice.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of obstetrical experience in an OB/GYN medical practice.
  • ARDMS obstetrics certification preferred.
  • Familiar with AIUM standards and practices.
  • Must perform first, second and third-trimester scans according to current standards.
  • Must perform GYN sonograms independently.
  • Comfortable assisting physicians with sonohysterography, IUD placement and removal.
  • Competent in OB/GYN 3D acquisition, fetal doppler, and GYN doppler.
  • Candidate should be able to recognize pathology while scanning.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic OB/GYN ultrasounds on patients.
  • Provide professional, adequate, and friendly patient care.
  • Review patient charts for all necessary information pertinent to performing the procedure.
  • Reporting the diagnostic data, including normal anatomy, as well as any recognized abnormalities.
  • Entering the patients report into EMR.
  • Conferring with the physicians about patients’ sonograms.
  • Assisting physicians with invasive studies.
  • Notify MA‘s of any need-to-know information about patients.
  • Maintaining patient safety.
  • Maintaining AIUM standards.
  • Collecting and submitting exams to AIUM when applying for reaccreditation.
  • Maintaining CME’s.
  • Meeting OSHA requirements.
  • Cleaning and sterilizing the ultrasound probes.
  • Proper use and maintenance of the Trophon Sterilization device.
  • Report any malfunctions of ultrasound equipment.
  • Cleaning the ultrasound room.
  • Stocking the ultrasound room.

Job description

Tidewater Physicians for Women is a division of Mid-Atlantic Women’s Care with offices in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Virginia. Women of all ages from young teens to women past menopause, can access compassionate and individualized care at Tidewater Physicians for Women. Locations:

  • Must be able to travel to both locations.
Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday.
  • 8-hour shift.

Salary

From $34.00 per hour based upon OB/GYN experience.
