Job summary

Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA, seeks an experienced echocardiography professional to perform diagnostic imaging and assist during TEEs. The role focuses on acquiring high-quality cardiac ultrasound, Doppler, and 3D imaging, with reporting and billing responsibilities as part of a clinical team.

Requirements include ARDMS or CCI credentials, RDCS or RCS certifications, and BLS. A 40-hour work week is expected with occasional weekends/holidays in outpatient and hospital settings.

Qualifications

• Requires credentials from ARDMS or Cardiovascular Credentialing (CCI).
• RDCS or RCS certification preferred or required as per role.
• BLS – Basic Life Support certification is required/preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review patient medical history, indications, physician notes and prior imaging.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images, Doppler data and GLS for evaluation of cardiac anatomy and function.
• Identify abnormal findings and cardiac pathology; administer ultrasound enhancing agent as needed.
• Assist cardiologists during Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) and perform 3D echocardiography.
• Document findings and prepare preliminary report; complete billing as applicable.
• Adhere to IAC echocardiography imaging standards and maintain professional growth.

Description

• Review patient medical history, clinical indications, physician notes and prior cardiac imaging studies


• Obtaining high-quality diagnostic images, Doppler data and myocardial strain imaging (GLS) for evaluation of cardiac anatomy, function, valvular disease and hemodynamics


• Identify abnormal findings and cardiac pathology.


• Administer ultrasound enhancing agent as needed per established protocols.


• Assisting cardiologists during Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE).


• Performing advanced imaging techniques including three-dimensional (3D) echocardiogram.


• Documenting technical findings and preparing preliminary report for physician interpretation.


• Complete appropriate billing of exam and contrast as applicable.


• Adhere to IAC echocardiography imaging standards


• Maintains professional growth and development through approved seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

Perform other work-related duties as requested/directed.

Qualifications

• Requires current credentials from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing (CCI).


• Must meet at least one of the following qualifications:


• (RDCS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer


• (RCS) Registered Cardiac Sonographer


• (BLS) – Current Basic Life Support certification


• (Preferred) Two (2) years of clinical experience. New grads from an accredited sonography program will be considered.


• Physical and mental health appropriate to the demands of the position.

Schedule Details

40 Hrs per week, Monday-Friday, 7a-3p or 8a-4p, Occ. Weekends and Holidays. Outpatient Department (25 Main or Wilkens). Hospital coverage as needed.
