About the Role

Success looks like providing exceptional, compassionate care; maintaining accurate records in Eaglesoft; supporting efficient daily workflow; and staying current with best practices in infection control, compliance, and continuing education.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, periodontal therapy, and preventive care.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventative care techniques tailored to their needs.
• Conduct oral cancer screenings and identify potential concerns early.
• Take and evaluate digital X-rays to support accurate clinical assessment.
• Assist in diagnosing periodontal disease through thorough periodontal evaluation and documentation.
• Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide when licensed and per office protocols.
• Maintain accurate, detailed patient records using Eaglesoft.
• Ensure all hygiene supplies and instruments are organized, tracked, and properly prepared in sterile areas.
• Operate and understand hygiene equipment, including basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance awareness.
• Oversee and support the hygiene team by promoting high-quality care, efficiency, and consistency.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards, including proper sterilization procedures.

Requirements

• Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in Texas.
• Minimum 3–5 years of clinical dental hygiene experience (3 years preferred).
• Proficiency in digital radiography and dental charting software (Eaglesoft).
• Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance requirements and infection control practices.
• Experience with patient education and clear, compassionate communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-focused, friendly approach.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
• Commitment to continuing education and staying current with hygiene trends (e.g., podcasts, professional groups).
