Job summary

Konza Prairie Community Health Center in Kansas is seeking a compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our growing dental team. You will provide high-quality, patient-centered preventive care and work closely with dentists and staff to improve access to care.

This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities with a schedule Monday–Friday, and benefits including PTO, retirement contributions, and medical/dental coverage.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in Kansas.
• Strong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, radiology, and infection control.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient screenings, health history review, and vital signs.
• Complete dental radiographs and assist with development.
• Remove calculus and plaque; provide preventive hygiene care.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, nutrition, and tobacco cessation.
• Maintain infection control standards and sterilization.
• Assist with impressions for study casts and clinical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient screenings including oral health assessments, health history review, oral cancer screenings, head and neck inspections, charting, and vital signs
• Complete dental radiographs (x-rays) and assist with development and review
• Remove calculus and plaque from tooth surfaces through preventive hygiene care
• Apply sealants, fluoride treatments, and other preventive materials
• Administer nitrous oxide sedation and local anesthesia as permitted
• Document existing restorations and identify areas of concern for dentist evaluation
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, brushing, flossing, nutrition, and tobacco cessation
• Maintain infection control standards and sterilization procedures following universal precautions
• Assist with impressions for study casts and other clinical support as needed
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and support administrative workflow

Requirements

• Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in Kansas
• Strong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, radiology, and infection control standards
• Excellent communication and patient education skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Current CPR certification
• Experience working in a community health or public health setting
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
