You’ll welcome patients and conduct their initial screenings, perform thorough, dental cleanings, and help dentists with examinations and procedures. Responsibilities: • Explain good oral hygiene techniques to patients of all ages, such as thorough brushing and flossing twice daily • Complete x-rays of the patients’ teeth so the dentist can quickly identify any tooth decay or other oral health issues • Clean dental instruments to ensure everything is sterilized properly • Create dental impressions of patients’ teeth so veneers, mouthguards, etc. can be made correctly • Put patients at ease by talking with them before, during, and after the appointment Qualifications: • Capable of standing all day to assist patients • Licensed to practice as a dental hygienist in the state • Must have at least an associate’s degree in dental hygiene; bachelor’s degree preferred • In-depth knowledge of dental safety regulations and HIPAA regulations • Superb customer service and communication skills Compensation: $60 - $75 hourly
