Big Smiles Missouri, a school-based mobile dental practice, is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist in St. Louis, MO and surrounding areas to help provide dental care to underserved children at their school, working full-time.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RDH license.
• Relevant experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and willingness to travel to schools across counties.
• Works well with others (both children and adults).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Current CPR (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with oral health management of all patients and be a team player at all times.
• Verify patient identity using name and date of birth prior to treatment and indicate verification on the medical chart.
• Obtain oral health assessments for new and follow‑up patients.
• Review medical history and other pertinent oral health information.
• Provide oral hygiene services: dental prophylaxis scaling, sealant application and fluoride application consistent with accepted best practices.
• Assist the dentist as directed.
• Provide oral health education and individual counseling to each patient according to established practices.
• Document all services on the patient’s chart.
• Travel daily to and from school sites.
