Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist in Los Angeles, CA to provide preventative dental care, educate patients, and support the dentist with high-quality care.

The RDH will perform prophylaxis, take X-rays, conduct screenings, apply fluoride, and maintain records, all while upholding infection control standards. At least 1 year of RDH experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; must be a state-registered RDH.
• Minimum of 1 year of RDH experience.
• Proficient in dental prophylaxis, X-ray processing, and periodontal maintenance.
• Knowledge of infection control and OSHA standards.
• Strong patient education and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental prophylaxis (cleanings), scaling, root planing, and periodontal maintenance.
• Take and process dental X-rays (digital or traditional).
• Conduct oral cancer screenings and evaluate patients for signs of oral diseases.
• Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive materials.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care techniques.
• Review and document medical and dental histories.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and charting in compliance with dental practice standards.
• Sterilize instruments and ensure operatory cleanliness between patients.
• Assist the dentist during examinations when needed.
• Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and OSHA standards.
