Job summary

The Dental Views in Vista, CA is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to provide preventive care, educate patients on oral health, and support the dentist in delivering high-quality care. The RDH will promote optimal oral hygiene and ensure patient comfort and satisfaction.

Responsibilities include prophylaxis, X-rays, cancer screenings, fluoride/sealant applications, documentation, and adherence to infection control standards. California licensure and one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• State-registered Dental Hygienist license required or eligible for California licensure.

Registered Dental Hygienist Job Overview

The RDH is responsible for providing preventative dental care, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the dentist in delivering high-quality care. This position plays a critical role in promoting optimal oral hygiene and ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental prophylaxis (cleanings), scaling, root planing, and periodontal maintenance.
• Take and process dental X-rays (digital or traditional).
• Conduct oral cancer screenings and evaluate patients for signs of oral diseases.
• Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive materials.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care techniques.
• Review and document medical and dental histories.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and charting in compliance with dental practice standards.
• Sterilize instruments and ensure operatory cleanliness between patients.
• Assist the dentist during examinations when needed.
• Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and OSHA standards.
