Job description

We are looking for an experienced Registered Dental Hygienist with great people skills and to whom patient care is a priority. We require a hygienist who is high energy, self-driven and motivated. We are a fast-paced office so someone who likes to stay busy is a must. A team player is a must, someone who will help the team if needed. We are a privately owned, well established fast-paced dental practice. The hygiene position is part time Monday through Wednesday. Laser certification is a big plus.

Responsibilities

Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination

Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history

Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis

Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)

Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)

Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures

Take X-rays

Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)

Maintain documentation and charts on each patient

Monitor supplies

Sterilize dental instruments properly and give a hand elsewhere if you don't have a patient.

In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession

Dentrix software experience

Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
