Job summary

DirectDental in Carlsbad, CA is seeking an experienced dental hygienist to join a friendly, close-knit team. Flexible schedule of 2 days or 4 days a week, seeing 8 patients daily with a full hour per patient to ensure quality care and rapport.

You will perform patient assessments, cleanings, sealants, and fluoride, educate patients, and collaborate with dentists on individualized treatment plans while maintaining accurate records and following infection control protocols.

Qualifications

• Active state hygienist license and CPR certification.
• Experience with dental assisting techniques and familiarity with medical coding/imaging.
• Strong dental terminology and procedures knowledge for clinic use.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for medical records.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for procedures.
• Experience with Eaglesoft software and 2–5 years hygiene experience.

Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic hygienist to join our friendly, close-knit, and energetic staff! We are a well-established, private practice located in downtown Carlsbad that believes in quality dental care and the ethical treatment of our patients and our community. We are looking for an experienced hygienist with a calm and friendly demeanor for 2 days a week or 4 days a week seeing 8 patients a day (we always allow for a full hour with each patient to allow our hygienists to do a quality job and develop rapport with their patients). We work as a true team and support and care for our staff members!

Responsibilities

Perform thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and conducting oral examinations.

Provide preventive dental care by cleaning teeth, applying sealants and fluoride, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices.

Utilize dental terminology accurately while communicating with patients and staff.

Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff

Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of treatments performed in compliance with clinic policies.

Support the dental office team by assisting with various tasks as needed, including sterilization of instruments and preparation of treatment rooms.

Collaborate with dentists to develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on their needs.

Develop a rapport with our patients and help to create a positive patient experience

Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist and CPR certification.

Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and familiarity with medical coding and medical imaging is preferred.

Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures relevant to a dental clinic setting.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain accurate medical records.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.

Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for performing dental procedures

Experience with Patterson Eaglesoft software preferred

At least 2-5 years hygiene experience preferred
