Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain patient oral health.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral conditions.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions using clear communication.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and dental records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, supporting dental assisting activities efficiently.
• Collaborate with the dental team including receptionists and other staff to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient experiences.

Experience

• Proven experience working in a dental office or clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures is preferred.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices relevant to dental care documentation.
• Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical records management.
• Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments including vital signs measurement and medical documentation accuracy.
• Experience supporting diverse dental specialties such as orthodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, or periodontics is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills combined with a professional attitude toward patient care and team collaboration.
