Job summary

Poidmore Orthodontics in California is seeking a motivated Registered Dental Assistant/Ortho Assistant to support our orthodontist and deliver high-quality patient care.

The role includes assisting during procedures, sterilizing instruments, taking x-rays, educating patients, maintaining records, ordering supplies, and supporting front desk duties in a fast-paced, patient-centered practice.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; accredited dental assisting program preferred.
  • Valid RDA license and CPR certification required by law.
  • Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply; prior experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in digital radiographs and dental software systems.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and patient care protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the orthodontist during a variety of treatment procedures.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
  • Take and develop x-rays as directed by the orthodontist.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Order and manage dental supplies, ensuring the office remains well-stocked and organized.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Support administrative duties as needed, including answering phones, greeting patients, and processing payments.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to improve patient flow and the overall patient experience.

The Registered Dental Assistant/OA will support the orthodontist in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting with various clinical procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile and organized environment. Key Responsibilities:
