Job summary

HCA Houston ER 24/7 - Mission Bend seeks a registered CT Technologist PRN to join our imaging team. Under supervision, you will perform CT exams, ensure patient safety, and maintain high-quality imaging in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates hold ARRT-CT or ARRT-R Certification, an Associate Degree, BLS within 30 days, and at least one year of experience. You will mentor staff, uphold safety standards, and support department goals and patient care.

Qualifications

• ARRT-CT or ARRT-R certification required.
• Associate degree in radiologic technology or related field.
• BLS certification within 30 days of start date.
• At least one year of CT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for CT exams and explain procedures.
• Perform CT imaging with emphasis on safety and quality.
• Operate in high-volume, high-stress environments while maintaining accuracy.
• Mentor less experienced staff and participate in department PI activities.

Job Summary and Qualifications

CT Technologist) – Under the general direction of the Director and Manager of Imaging Services and the Supervisor of CT, the CT Technologist is responsible for the provision of computed tomographic radiographs to patients in accordance with physicians' orders. The CT Technologist provides for patient safety and high quality testing. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required to interact with patient, physicians, visitors, and other staff members. Rapidly changing workflow requires an ability to handle high stress environments.

What you will do in this role:

• Prepares patients for CT exam, explains procedure and ensures technical quality.

• Ensures safe care to patients, adhering to policies, procedures, and standards.

• Demonstrates ability to accurately provide quality CT examinations in a timely manner.

• Is able to handle high volume, high stress situations.

• Has exceptional critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities.

• Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education.

• Upholds the highest standards of customer service at all times (“customer” includes patients, family members, co-workers, referring physicians, etc.).

• Actively participates in P.I. activities established by the Imaging Department.

• Possesses knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to work accurately within the Imaging Department.

• Serves as a mentor and resource to less experienced staff/students.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer

• Associate Degree

• (ARRT-CT) Computed Tomography, or (ARRT-R) Radiography

• Minium one year of experience required
