Job summary

Vibra Healthcare, LLC. is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital in Fresno, CA. The role focuses on providing high-quality nutritional care for acutely rehab patients and ambulatory clients.

You will perform assessments, counsel patients, and develop and monitor nutrition plans while ensuring compliance with hospital standards. A part-time bonus of $7,500 is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Current, valid, and active license and/or certification to practice as a Registered Dietitian in the state of employment required.
• Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.
• Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience in a hospital setting required.

Responsibilities

• Perform nutritional assessments/evaluations and make dietary recommendations.
• Provide patient counseling and education.
• Develop nutritional care plans and monitor/implement changes as appropriate.
• Monitor patient adherence, acceptance and tolerance of prescribed nutrition therapy.

Hospital Details

San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital, located in Fresno, CA, is a 62 bed acute rehab hospital, providing rehabilitative services to people recovering from disabilities caused by injuries or illnesses. We help our patients regain their physical or cognitive abilities so they can return home at their highest level of independence. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you really get to know your patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the quality of nutritional care provided to both hospitalized and ambulatory patients. Performs nutritional assessments/evaluations and makes dietary recommendations. Provides patient counseling and education. Develops nutritional care, and monitors and implements changes as appropriate. Implements nutrition therapy orders and verifies implementation of orders. Monitors and evaluates patient’s adherence to, acceptance of, and tolerance for prescribed nutrition therapy. Re-evaluates/updates nutrition care on a regular basis. Accountable for the planning and directing of the nutrition office.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Current, valid, and active license and/or certification to practice as a Registered Dietitian in the state of employment required.
• Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.
• Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience in a hospital setting required.

Additional Qualifications/Skills

• Current BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor preferred.
• Knowledge in modern principles and practices of dietetics preferred.
• Knowledge in safety and sanitation standards applicable to hospital food service preferred.
• Ability to project a professional image.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
• Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
