Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Cardiac Sonographer for our Heart & Vascular department at the Edgewood hospital. Full-Time, 80 hours biweekly, first shift.

You will perform and report echocardiography studies in accordance with ASE/IAC standards and contribute to trainee education and continuous quality improvement. The ideal candidate will hold an accredited cardiovascular ultrasound degree and an active ARDMS/CCI registry, with strong compassion, professionalism, and teamwork

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular ultrasound program or equivalent experience per IAC guidelines.
• Registered in non-invasive imaging with active ARDMS/CCI registry.
• New graduates have 1 year to obtain registry.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report comprehensive echocardiography studies per ASE and IAC standards.
• Evaluate and document findings; review patient histories and maintain QA standards.
• Ensure accurate recordkeeping and communicate urgent findings to cardiology colleagues.
• Support trainee education and participate in continuing education.

Job Description:

The Registered Cardiac Sonographer performs and reports comprehensive echocardiography studies to support the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease. Responsibilities include conducting cardiac ultrasound examinations in accordance with ASE and IAC standards, evaluating and documenting findings, reviewing patient cardiac histories, maintaining quality assurance standards, and ensuring accurate recordkeeping. This role also supports trainee education, communicates urgent findings to interpreting cardiologists, and participates in continuing education to maintain clinical expertise. The ideal candidate demonstrates respect, compassion, and professionalism in every interaction with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

• Graduate of an accredited (or accreditation eligible) cardiovascular ultrasound degree program and/or qualifying experience in accordance with IAC guidelines.
• Registered in non-invasive imaging with active status registry from ARDMS or CCI. New graduates will have 1 year after graduating to obtain registry.

Specialized Knowledge:

• Advance use of Doppler-continuous wave, pulse, color flow. Ability to provide professional preliminary reports.
