St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a Registered Cardiac Sonographer to perform comprehensive echocardiography studies that support diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease.

You will record, report, and assist with quality assurance in a busy cardiovascular lab. Requirements include graduation from an accredited cardiovascular ultrasound program and active ARDMS or CCI registry, with Doppler and quantitative valve/chamber assessments, and commitment to continuing education and patient-centered

Formación

• Graduate from an accredited cardiovascular ultrasound degree program or qualifying experience.
• Registered in non-invasive imaging with ARDMS or CCI registry active.
• Knowledge of Doppler, color flow, and quantitative valve assessments.

Responsabilidades

• Perform complete cardiac ultrasound studies according to ASE and IAC guidelines.
• Evaluate results with preliminary reports of normal and abnormal findings.
• Assess patient history to identify factors affecting cardiac disease.
• Maintain QA of studies and equipment function.
• Pursue continuing education and participate in trainee education.
• Disperse accurate study records to physicians and floors.

Job Summary:

The Registered Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing cardiac studies on patients that support treatment and diagnosis of cardiac disease. To perform, record, and report all Echocardiography procedures using sophisticated procedures requested.

Job Description:

• Perform complete cardiac ultrasound study in compliance with guidelines set by the American Society of Echocardiography and IAC inclusive of evaluation of 4 cardiac valves and chambers.
• Evaluate results of study making preliminary report of normal and abnormal findings inclusive of qualitative calculations of valve function and chamber pressure as indicated.
• Evaluate patient history assessing past and current cardiac status for determination of factors leading to cardiac disease
• Maintain Quality Assurance of studies performed as well as equipment function.
• Maintain continuing education in order to continually provide complete diagnostic studies.
• Participate in technical training of Cardiovascular Trainee education
• Maintain for files and disperse to physicians and patient floors accurate records of studies completed.
• Responsible for notifying interpreting cardiologist of emergency situations based on Cardiac ultrasound findings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

• Graduate of an accredited (or accreditation eligible) cardiovascular ultrasound degree program and/or qualifying experience in accordance with IAC guidelines.
• Registered in non-invasive imaging with active status registry from ARDMS or CCI. New graduates will have 1 year after graduating to obtain registry.

Specialized Knowledge:

• Advance use of Doppler-continuous wave, pulse, color flow. Ability to provide professional preliminary reports.
