Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a Registered Cardiac Sonographer to perform comprehensive echocardiography studies to support diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease, recording and reporting results with empathy for patients, families, and staff.

The role requires graduates from accredited cardiovascular ultrasound programs with ARDMS/CCI registry, ongoing education, and the ability to train Cardiovascular Trainees. Regular hours and strong benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular ultrasound degree program and/or qualifying experience per IAC guidelines.
• Registered in non-invasive imaging with active ARDMS or CCI registry.
• New graduates have 1 year after graduating to obtain registry.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete cardiac ultrasound study in accordance with ASE and IAC guidelines, including evaluation of valves and chambers.
• Evaluate study results and prepare preliminary reports with qualitative valve function and chamber pressure assessments.
• Assess patient history to determine factors contributing to cardiac disease.
• Maintain quality assurance of studies and equipment function.
• Pursue ongoing continuing education to provide comprehensive diagnostic studies.
• Participate in technical training of cardiovascular trainees.
• Maintain records and distribute to physicians and patient floors accurately.
• Notify interpreting cardiologist promptly in emergency situations based on findings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
