Join our forward-thinking Building Control team at 3C Shared Services Building Control, where we lead the way in delivering high-quality, customer-focused building control services to one of the UK’s most vibrant cities and surrounding areas.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of construction projects, from heritage sites to modern developments.
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations, working with homeowners, developers, architects, and contractors.
  • Conduct inspections and assessments at various construction stages, focusing on safety, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships, becoming a trusted partner in project success and public safety.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to team improvements and innovation.

About Us

3C Shared Services Building Control is a partnership between Huntingdonshire District Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council, and Cambridge City Council, delivering resilient, high-quality building control services across a diverse region. We support historic landmarks and innovative developments, ensuring safety, compliance, and excellence.

About You

We seek an experienced professional with a passion for building control, who:

  • Is registered with the Building Safety Regulator as a Building Inspector Class 2
  • Has strong knowledge of building regulations, including fire safety, accessibility, and energy performance
  • Can examine plans, conduct site inspections, and maintain detailed reports and records
  • Can manage projects and deliver excellent customer service independently
  • Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills

A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential, as travel across the partnership area is required.

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £40,476 - £45,718 per annum (City Pay Band 6), pro-rata for part-time roles.

Location: Hybrid work model, mainly office-based with some remote work flexibility.
