Description

If supporting and mentoring children and adolescents is your passion, then you’ll enjoy being a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at our private Day School located in Landenberg, PA. You will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. Here is your chance to apply your knowledge and skills related to behavioral interventions and work with children/adolescents and truly make a difference in the lives of others!

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm (52-week year long position)

Every day as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) you will:

  • Work with children on a 1:1 basis in a school environment
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of the children
  • Provide interventions to children with emotional support and behavioral health needs in a school setting
  • Deescalate and mitigate behaviors throughout the day

You will be offered:

Devereux Day Academy is a private academic school program located in Landenberg, PA. Devereux Day Academy is licensed to serve students in grades K-12 who have been identified with the following primary disabilities: Emotional Disturbance, behavioral and cognitive differences. The Devereux Day Academy is also able to help children with autism, intellectual disabilities and speech and language impairments. The core curriculum has been aligned with the Pennsylvania Core Standards, as well as the curricula of our partner school districts. This innovative special education program works in tandem with families and school districts to ensure that students can return to their local schools and communities with the tools they will need to succeed. The goal of the curriculum is to provide students with learning experiences that foster increased engagement and success through differentiated instruction, evidence-based instructional strategies, and rigorous learning expectations. Each student has an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), which outlines goals for skill development and the best strategies by which the student can reach his/her goals. A multi-disciplinary team, including the individual’s parent(s) or guardian, regularly reviews the plan to discuss challenges, progress and adjustments to goals as appropriate. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Requires a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year of work experience with children or adolescents preferred.

Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.

Must be at least 21 years of age.
