About Us
Sierra School of Sacramentois a nonpublic, special education school that serves students from K – 12th grade (ages 5-22). We utilize unique education models, an effective positive behavior management system, and multiple mental health techniques to increase academic awareness, develop social skills and cultivate proper classroom behavior in each of our students. Our goal is to work along side the student to improve academic and social success so that the student can return to a least restrictive setting. Our dedicated staff and teachers are committed to the growth and safety of each student.

Overview

The Opportunity
The RBT will be responsible for working with small groups ofstudentsand the teacher to deliver individualized services and supports. They will monitor student behavior, track educational progress, and communicate with parents. Additionally, they will help reinforce the curriculum provided by the teacher. Every child deserves to reach their full potential and we’re looking to hire an exceptionalAssistant Teacherwho will play an essential role in fueling student success.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties as assigned.
  • Work with students to reinforce learning of material or skill initially introduced by the teacher by assigning appropriate tasks, completing one-on-one tutorials, and implementing the SESI rotation model
  • Assistthe Teacherwith large group activities, correcting papers, supervising testing, guiding independent study or enrichment activities, providing accommodations and modifications as necessary
  • Utilize behaviorsupportand intervention strategies
  • Implementde-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraintifnecessary to maintain the safety of students and staff
  • Support and document students’ growth and progress towards academic, social, and emotional goals
  • Supervise students and ensure they are always monitored, including to and from appropriate locations within the school
  • Light lifting, walking, and/or climbing stairs may be required

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required
  • College experience and/orBachelor's Degreepreferred
  • Experience working with youth preferred
