Job Summary

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) / Paraprofessional to support students with academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and communication needs. Responsibilities include providing direct student support, implementing behavior and instructional plans, collecting data, collaborating with staff, and promoting student independence and success in a school setting.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to students in academic, behavioral, social, and functional skill development.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and individualized education programs (IEPs) under the supervision of certified staff.
  • Collect and maintain accurate behavioral and instructional data.
  • Support students in general education and specialized instructional settings.
  • Assist students with organization, task completion, communication, and social interactions.
  • Utilize positive behavior supports and de-escalation strategies as needed.
  • Support students during transitions, lunch, recess, community-based activities, and other school routines.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, special education staff, behavior specialists, and related service providers.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information in accordance with district policies and federal regulations.
  • Participate in required trainings and professional development activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • RBT certification required
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students with diverse educational and behavioral needs
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
Salary and Benefits

Pay and benefits in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Unit of AFSCME, 6.5 hours per day, with a starting wage of $21.00 per hour.
