Job summary

The Place for Children with Autism in Elgin hires Behavior Therapists to work one-on-one with children aged 2–8 with autism, helping them develop communication and daily-living skills. You will implement therapy plans created by BCBA's, collect data, and discuss progress with the team.

Training for RBT certification is fully paid, and no prior experience is required. The role offers competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for advancement as you gain certification and experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and insurance.
• No prior experience required; RBT certification support provided.
• Must be willing to travel to other clinics as needed.

Responsibilities

Competitive Pay Based on Your Experience & Education:

• High School orAssociate’s Degree: $17.05 – $23.00 per hour, with $1.00 per hour increases every six months (based on your starting level at hire).
• Master’s Degree: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour.

What You’ll Do:

• Work 1:1 with children between the ages of 2-8 withAutism Spectrum Disorder(ASD), helping them learn communication, social, anddaily-livingskills.
• Implement individualized therapy programs designed by our Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), collect data, and participate in team discussions around progress and strategy.
• Bring energy, creativity, and passion – Using play, movement, and laughter to engage children while promoting skill-building and growth.
• Partner with clients and their families in celebrating wins, problem-solving challenges, and promoting each child’s growth.

What We’re Looking For:

• Energeticteam players who show up ready to engage and move with children throughout their sessions – This includes bending, squatting,lifting upto 30 pounds, and keeping pace with energetic young learners during play and activities.

• Must be at least 18 years old and hold a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Have accessibility to reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and insurance, and be able to travel to other clinics to support when assigned.
