Job summary

Marklund in Elgin, IL is seeking dedicated Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to join our mission-focused team. Hours are 8 AM–4 PM, Monday–Friday, with an hourly rate of $24.25–$25.25 based on qualifications and experience; immediate hiring and paid training are offered.

Join our Day School program serving ages 3–21 with medical and developmental needs; you will implement behavior plans, document progress, and support students in one-on-one and small-group settings.

Qualifications

• Illinois Paraprofessional Educator license is required; can be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Must have Registered Behavior Technician License.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Document all goals/program including daily participation records after task completion.
• Observe and manage behavior of students according to approved procedures.
• Implement behavior management techniques to support students.
• Work directly with students one-on-one and in groups per IEPs.
• Assist teachers with classwork and daily care of students with special needs.
• Keep classroom equipment clean and provide a safe environment for all students.
• Provide training and coaching to paraprofessionals on behavior techniques.
• Must successfully pass PCM (behavior management) training.

About our school:

Marklund Day School is a non-public state-certified school that partners with area school districts to provide a highly specialized education experience. The therapeutic, sensory-driven Multi-Needs Program serves individuals ages 3 through 21 with medical, developmental, and physical disabilities. Through the Life Skills Program, teachers and paraprofessionals provide individualized functional curriculum and supports for students who are diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum, specific learning disabilities, and developmental disabilities.

You will make a difference in the lives of our students in the following ways:

Experience and Skills

Qualifications:

• Illinois Paraprofessional Educator license is required. It can be obtained after being hired within 30 days. To obtain license candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have Registered Behavior Technician License.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements
