Job summary

ABA Centers of New Jersey is looking for Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and Behavior Technicians (BTs) to provide ABA therapy in homes, schools, and clinics in West Orange, NJ. Starting pay is $24.60/hr for RBTs and $22.25/hr for BTs, with final compensation determined by experience, training, and education.

We offer paid training, mentorship, and a clear path for career growth, including an ABA Academy of Excellence to prepare for the RBT exam.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months of relevant experience (including internships or related roles).
• Availability during afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and driving record review.
• NJ candidates must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with children, in healthcare, or in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Support and deliver ABA therapy in homes, schools, communities, or clinics.
• Teach communication, social, and daily living skills.
• Implement individualized treatment plans under BCBA supervision.
• Track Progress and maintain data accuracy.
• Collaborate with BCBAs, families, and team members.

What You’ll Do

• Direct Client Support

Collaborate & Communicate

• Work closely with BCBAs, team members, and families

What We’re Looking For

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6+ months of relevant experience (including internships or related roles)

Position-Specific

• Behavior Technician (BT): Complete a 40-hour paid training program over 2 consecutive weeks (at the same rate of pay), followed by precepting (hands‑on supervision), and pass the RBT exam within 45 days (up to 3 weeks total)
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT): Active certification in good standing; 1 week of paid training followed by precepting (hands‑on supervision) (up to 2 weeks total)
• Training availability (BT / RBT): Must be available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Preferred

• Experience in childcare, education, or related fields
• Experience working with children or adolescents
• Prior exposure to ABA services
