Job summary

ABA Centers of New Jersey in Hackensack, NJ is seeking part-time Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) and Behavior Technicians (BT) to deliver ABA therapy across homes, schools and clinics. Starting pay is $24.60/hr for RBTs and $22.25/hr for BTs, with compensation determined by experience, training and education.

A $1,000 sign-on bonus and a $1,000 referral bonus are available through 5/31/2026. We provide paid training, mentorship, and a path for career advancement via our ABA Academy of

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6+ months of relevant experience (including internships or related roles).
• Availability during afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and driving record review.
• NJ candidates must be at least 21 years old with 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct client support and delivery of ABA therapy in homes, schools, communities or clinics.
• Teach communication, social, and daily living skills under supervision.
• Track progress and maintain quality; collect and document session data accurately.
• Collaborate with BCBAs, team members, and families; participate in meetings and training.
• Provide administrative and clinical support tasks as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Direct Client Support
• Deliver ABA therapy in homes, schools, communities, or clinics

Collaborate & Communicate

• Work closely with BCBAs, team members, and families
• Participating in team meetings and ongoing training

• Assist with administrative and clinical support tasks as needed

What We’re Looking For

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6+ months of relevant experience (including internships or related roles)
• Availability during afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and driving record review
• NJ candidates must be at least 21 years of age and have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with children, in healthcare, or in a related field.

Position-Specific

• Behavior Technician (BT): Complete a 40‑hour paid training program over 2 consecutive weeks (at the same rate of pay), followed by precepting (hands‑on supervision), and pass the RBT exam within 45 days (up to 3 weeks total)
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT): Active certification in good standing; 1 week of paid training followed by precepting (hands‑on supervision) (up to 2 weeks total)
• Training availability (BT / RBT): Must be available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Preferred

• Experience in childcare, education, or related fields
• Experience working with children or adolescents
• Prior exposure to ABA services
