Job summary

Ability Matters seeks a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to deliver direct ABA services across homes, schools, and community settings in Columbus, OH. This hands-on role works under BCBA supervision to implement behavior plans and help individuals build independence.

You will teach functional and daily living skills, collect data, monitor progress, and partner with families and teams to ensure consistent treatment goals.

Qualifications

  • Current RBT certification required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or GED minimum with relevant experience.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Behavior Plans
  • Provide direct ABA services by implementing individualized behavior intervention and skill acquisition programs under the supervision of a BCBA.
  • Teach Functional Skills through communication, social development, emotional regulation, independence, and daily living skills.
  • Use Positive Behavior Support to promote dignity, independence, and progress.
  • Collect Data & Monitor Progress to support treatment planning.
  • Support Community Inclusion by providing services in homes, schools, day programs, and communities.
  • Collaborate with Teams & Families to ensure consistent implementation of goals and supports.

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Pay: $18–$22/hour

Schedule: Full-Time & Part-Time Available

Location: Columbus, OH

At Ability Matters, we provide person-centered behavioral services for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. We are not a home health agency or clinic. We help individuals develop meaningful skills through real-life experiences and community inclusion.

This is a hands-on role where you'll see the impact of your work every day.

What You’ll Do

Implement Behavior Plans

Provide direct ABA services by implementing individualized behavior intervention and skill acquisition programs under the supervision of a BCBA.

Teach Functional Skills

Support communication, social development, emotional regulation, independence, and daily living skills.

Use Positive Behavior Support

Apply evidence-based behavioral strategies that promote dignity, independence, and meaningful progress.

Collect Data & Monitor Progress

Track behavioral and skill development data to support individualized treatment and service planning.

Support Community Inclusion

Provide services in homes, schools, day programs, and throughout the community, helping individuals participate in meaningful activities and build independence beyond traditional therapy settings.

Collaborate with Teams & Families

Work closely with BCBAs, supervisors, families, and other professionals to ensure consistent implementation of treatment goals and individualized supports.
