Job summary

AWARE Inc. offers a Registered Behavior Technician position in Bozeman, MT. This full-time role supports adults, children, and families within a compassionate team dedicated to ABA-based interventions and personal growth.

The RBT will follow treatment plans, collect data, and collaborate with families and the treatment team to ensure consistent, high-quality care in the community.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal and written communication to work as a team member and report observations accurately.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A valid Montana driver's license or ability to obtain one with a good driving record.
• Background check (criminal and protective services) must be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors to build communication, social interaction, and problem solving skills.
• Increases frequency or duration of safe replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers.
• Accurately collects behavior data (A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, event, interval).
• Follows treatment plan goals and interventions with sound judgment and consultation.
• Collaborates with family and treatment team to provide effective treatment without disruption.
• Educates involved parties about the ABA-based role of the RBT and adheres to its boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem solving skills;
• Increases the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations);
• Accurately collects behavior data including A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, event, and interval based recording;
• Follows the treatment plan goals and interventions utilizing sound judgment and seeks out appropriate consultation;
• Collaborates with family and treatment team members to provide treatment effectively and without disruption to the environment or other individuals in the environment;
• Educates all those involved about the role of ABA based interventions and the RBT, and functions within boundaries of the RBT role in providing treatment.

Requirements

Talents, skills, and abilities:

• Interpersonal oral and written communications skills to work as a team member, to make observations and to report them accurately, to learn behavioral and clinical, methods, and to follow oral and written instructions and have the ability to facilitate meetings;
• High School Diploma or HSE is required;
• A valid Montana Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one, and an acceptable driving record;
• An acceptable criminal and protective services background check.
