Job summary

Stafford Public Schools in Stafford, CT seeks a Registered Behavior Technician to support students at Stafford Elementary School. The role is a 10-month position with hourly pay between $25 and $35, based on experience and qualifications.

The RBT will deliver behavior-analytic services under supervision, implement intervention plans, and collect data while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries. Collaborative teamwork with teachers, BCBA, and other staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous exposure to or experience in the education sector preferred.
• Certification as an RBT received by the BACB.
• Experience with students identified on the autism spectrum and emotional disabilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivering behavior analysis services under the direction of the BCBA.
• Implement programs and behavior intervention plans provided by a special education teacher/BCBA/School Psychologist.
• Collect and record data regarding student behavior including progress notes.
• Maintain accurate records of student data.
• Communicate with school staff regarding student plans.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries with staff, students, and parents.
• Assist special education teacher/BCBA with providing discrete trial instruction.
• Collaborate with all team members including teachers, paraeducators, administrators, related service providers, and parents.
• Follow BACB ethics codes as required by the BACB (see attached Ethics Code).
• Immediately reports to special education teacher or BCBA any student incidents or complaints.
• Perform other responsibilities as designated by the Director of Pupil Services and supervisory BCBA in accordance with the BACB’s published task list.
• Maintains Safety Care training.
• Participates in team meetings including PPT meetings, as requested.
• Attends all required staff meetings

SALARY and BENEFITS: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

10-month position (184 work days)
