Job summary

Judevine Center for Autism in St. Louis, MO is hiring Behavior Technicians/RBTs to implement ABA services for adults with autism. You will work under a supervising BCBA/BCaBA, follow treatment plans, collect data, and help clients build communication, social, and daily living skills in home or community settings.

We may train you to become an RBT; training and exam costs are covered. Travel within the surrounding area is required and reliability is essential.

Qualifications

  • Has experience working with adults with autism and/or related disabilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
  • Must pass criminal and family care safety registry background screenings; willing to train and travel for in-home services.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationship by pairing self as reinforcement and building the clients motivation for social interaction with the RBT.
  • Provide prompts for safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ensure an increase in frequency/duration of safe and appropriate behaviors by providing access to reinforcers.
  • Accurately and neatly collect behavior data including ABC, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval-based recording.
  • Maintain and submit paperwork including timesheets, data logs, and session notes.

Description

Behavior Technicians/RBT’s are responsible for providing direct implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Services to people on the autism spectrum so that they are able to reach their full potential. Behavior Technicians help people improve behavior, communication, social and functional skills. The Behavior Technician will follow the treatment plan developed by the supervising BCBA or BCaBA which can also include staff training, recreation, and leisure activities, teaching functional communication, achieving increased independence, productivity, and inclusion in the community.

If you are not yet registered, but you are interested in becoming a Registered Behavior Technician, we can help you!! We will provide the training needed to become an RBT and cover the cost of the exam. You will work directly with a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst who will guide you through the process!

In St Louis County we are looking for qualified candidates who are either RBT\'s or wishing to become RBT\'s to work with adults with autism and related disabilities. These adults need guidance and support to work on their unique challenges and social skills to develop more socially appropriate behaviors and develop coping strategies when faced with difficult situations. We are willing to train if you have the patience and dedication!

In this role you will:

  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationship by pairing self as reinforcement and building the clients motivation for social interaction with the RBT.

  • Ensure an increase in frequency/duration of safe and appropriate behaviors by providing the individual access to reinforcers (desired tangibles, attention, or removal of demands).
  • Accurately and neatly collect behavior data including ABC, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval-based recording.
  • Maintain and submit paperwork according to deadlines including, but not limited to timesheets, data logs, and session notes.
  • Follow the treatment plan goals and interventions utilizing sound judgment and seeking out appropriate consultation.
  • Maintain professional relationship with individuals, families, community members, and Judevine staff.

Behavior Technicians must also be able to work independently and/or in a team setting. They must stay current with all trainings, certifications, and/or licensure as required for the position. Dependable and reliable attendance is also a must as clients and their families depend on us to provide the services we have agreed to.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with adults with autism and/or related disabilities.
  • Has a high school diploma or equivalent. Some college is preferred, but not required.
  • Other: Must pass criminal and family care safety registry background screenings. Must be willing to accept and learn from training provided. If not yet credentialed, this will include 40 hours of training, passing the RBT Competency Assessment, and the RBT exam. Also, must be willing to travel throughout surrounding area to provide in home services.

$18 per hour starting without credential/$22 per hour starting with credential depending on experience
