Job summary

University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) seeks a 1:1 behavioral support professional to provide assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention for children and adolescents with severe behavioral disorders. The role includes organizing data systems, supporting research activities, and staff training, with a potential backup for patient assessments as needed.

All interventions follow a treatment plan directed by a BCBA or licensed psychologist.

Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent required.
  • Minimum six months experience working with children.
  • Licensed as a Registered Behavioral Technician or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be proficient in data entry and creating/update graphs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Position Summary

Provide direct, 1:1, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention supports (e.g., behavioral therapy services) to children and adolescents diagnosed with severe behavioral disorders. This position will assist with organizing and maintaining data collection and statistical analysis systems, research activities, and staff training for the program. May function as a backup for patient assessments and program implementation on an as needed basis. This position will also assist with cleaning, organizing, and preparing case and department materials and systems.

All behavioral therapy strategies and intervention components will occur through the implementation of a treatment plan that is prepared and directed by a BCBA or BCBA -D/Licensed Psychologist.

* This position will regularly encounter potentially moderate- to high-risk care situations that could result in bodily harm to the employee. These situations may include, but are not limited to, providing behavioral therapy in situations where the patients display property destruction, emotional outbursts, verbal insults, and physical aggression. This position will receive specialized behavior management training.
