Grand Valley Behavior (GVBSC) is expanding! We now have 3 locations and are looking for individuals who have a passion for working with children, a love of learning, a strong work ethic, strong communication skills, and who are seeking a job with potential for growth.

“The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional certification in behavior analysis. RBTs assist in delivering behavior analysis services and practice under the direction and close supervision of an RBT Supervisor and/or an RBT Requirements Coordinator, who are responsible for all work RBTs perform” (Behavior Analyst Certification Board).

GVBSC is hiring For the Registered Behavior Technician position, part‑time or full‑time. RBT candidates must have a passion for working with children who have higher levels of moderate to severe challenging behaviors. A strong candidate for this position should feel a strong desire to meet neurodiverse individuals where they are at and build on their strengths. RBT's will implement behavior reduction protocols consistent with principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with varying severe challenging behaviors and significant delays in skill acquisition areas, depending on the team they are placed on. Services are provided in the home, community, and at our center.

RBT/BT Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching, natural environment training arrangements, SBT, and other interventions.
  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Accurately record data for prescribed learning protocols and/or treatment plans.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
  • Demonstrate or work toward proficiency in all concepts within the RBT task list.
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols, within the scope of the RBT.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.
  • Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and dignity.
  • Assist BCBA, Behavior Analysts, and ABA Interns with skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments.
  • Assist BCBA, Behavior Analysts, and ABA Interns in preparing client materials as instructed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings

BASIC & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift and carry clients with or without adaptive equipment.
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior.
  • Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
  • Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school and community placements.
  • Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites within the Mesa County Area.
  • Must have a valid Colorado Driver’s License & insurance in good standing.
  • Must have an RBT certification OR able and willing to complete the 40 hour RBT training and obtain certification within 180 days of hire.
  • Must be able to pass a Background Criminal Investigation and Abuse Registry check.

Training rate: $20 to $22 RBT pay range: Team A : $24 to $28; Team B: $22 to $25; Team C: $20-$22
