Job summary

Nexus Health Systems seeks a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join Nexus Children’s Hospital – Dallas. The RBT will work under a BCBA to implement ABA programs, collect data, and support growth in behavioral, social, and emotional skills for children and adolescents with complex medical needs.

The role requires an active RBT certification, a high school diploma (Bachelor’s preferred), and BLS/CPR certification upon hire.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or related field preferred.
  • Active BACB RBT certification required.
  • Experience with children/adolescents in behavioral health, developmental, or medical settings preferred.
  • Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
  • BLS/CPR certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Implement ABA programs and behavior intervention plans as directed by the BCBA.
  • Collect and record accurate behavioral data during treatment sessions.
  • Support patients in developing daily living, communication, and coping skills.
  • Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviors using approved techniques.
  • Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care.
  • Promote a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment aligned with hospital policies.

Position Summary

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide direct behavioral intervention services to children and adolescents. The RBT implements individualized treatment plans to support behavioral, social, and emotional growth in patients with complex medical and psychiatric conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs and behavior intervention plans as directed by the BCBA.
