Job Summary

Provide school‑based behavioral services to students in multiple programs. Duties include supporting behavior specialists with training teachers and staff, completing skill assessments and functional behavior assessments, developing interventions, and collecting and monitoring data.

Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative Skills: All ABA duties to be supervised by BCBA, BCaBA, or Behavior Specialist.

  • Complete observations for functional behavior assessments.
  • Train CPI, TACT2, and Ukeru as assigned.
  • Answer clarifying questions about behavior change procedures.
  • Ensure data collection fidelity and maintain up‑to‑date graphs.
  • Monitor behavior change programs and data collection for fidelity.
  • Assist classroom teachers and Behavior Specialists with skill assessments including the VB‑MAPP and Essentials for Living or other related skills assessments.
  • Support development of interventions and materials needed for behavior change procedures.
  • Train teachers and paraprofessionals on ABA‑based teaching methods and specific programs.
  • Develop data sheets and data analysis systems.
  • Work collaboratively with a team including behavior specialists, speech‑language pathologists, occupational therapists, teachers, counselors, and paraprofessionals.
  • Provide materials as necessary to classrooms to implement teaching protocols.
  • Provide community trainings with the BCBA.
  • Organize and prioritize time and work independently.
  • Write clear and concise reports and train others in writing compliant reports.
  • First responder for crisis response.
  • Lead and support PBIS team and other building‑level committees.
  • Manage a variety of roles and duties.
  • Complete supervision with BCaBA or BCBA as required by the BACB.
  • Keep current and follow BACB requirements to remain certified.

  • Develop and maintain rapport, credibility, and trust with all staff and ancillary staff.
  • Maintain positive associations with PPBOCES, outside agencies, and school district staff.

  • Contribute actively to discussion during staff meetings, staffings, etc.

Assumes responsibility for other duties or tasks as assigned by administrative personnel

Evaluation

This position will be evaluated in accordance with the responsibilities listed and with board policy on personnel evaluations.

Salary, Working Time, Vacation, Etc.

This position is 1.0 FTE, 179 days per year, based on the school calendar.

Working Conditions
  • Talking, hearing, walking, standing, or bending is frequently required.
  • Reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, or kneeling as required.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of objects up to 25 pounds.
  • All required license(s) must be maintained in active status throughout employment.
  • Employee may be required to stay at or return to work during meetings, emergencies, or to perform other duties.
  • TACT2 certification required to perform all TACT2 holds and transport positions.
