Job summary

High Point Medical Center in High Point, NC is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a 0.75 FTE schedule with 3–12 hour shifts one week and 2–12 hour shifts the next, including every Saturday and Sunday night from 19:00 to 07:30. The unit features 10 beds, 6 labor suites, 3 triage rooms, and 1 recovery room.

You will deliver safe, patient-centered maternal care and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team. The role requires an active RN license, BLS, and typically 1 year of clinical nursing

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Board of Nursing–approved nursing program.
  • Active, unrestricted RN license (multi-state compact and/or state-specific based on practice location).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
  • Additional certifications or experience may be required based on specialty.
  • Preferred: BSN.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, patient-centered maternal care using the nursing process and evidence-based practices.
  • Monitor conditions, adjust care, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain documentation and support communication and delegation.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and flexible patient care support.

Department: 35005 High Point Medical Center - Nursing: Labor and Delivery Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 30 Schedule Details/Additional Information: 0.75 FTE - 3 - 12 hour shifts 1 week and 2- 12 hour shifts the next week. Every Saturday and Sunday. Night shift 1900-0730.

Our Labor and Delivery is a specialized 10-bed unit featuring 6 labor and delivery suites, 3 triage rooms, and 1 recovery room. Our team provides compassionate, high-quality care for expectant mothers throughout the labor and delivery process, as well as evaluation and treatment for patients experiencing pregnancy-related concerns.

We care for patients at 33 weeks gestation and beyond, supporting families through every stage of their childbirth journey in a safe and patient-centered environment.

Deliver safe, patient-centered maternal care using the nursing process, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practices—monitoring conditions and adjusting care to achieve optimal outcomes for mothers and newborns. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams while promoting safety, quality, and accountability—maintaining documentation, supporting communication and delegation, and engaging in ongoing professional development and flexible patient care support.
