Job summary

Veolia is seeking a wastewater plant operator to cover vacations and absences across multiple facilities in the region, and to train local teams. The role will operate pumps and valves, collect samples, monitor data, and ensure safety and quality standards.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 3+ years in wastewater operations; be prepared for day and night shifts, including 12-hour shifts, travel to sites, and emergency call-ins.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations or related field.
• Operational experience with site-specific equipment is preferred.
• Strong leadership and effective communication skills are required.
• Willingness to work day and night shifts, including 12-hour shifts when needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain coverage across Veolia-operated facilities in the region during vacations and absences.
• Operate pumps, motors, and valves to regulate wastewater flow and monitor testing routines.
• Collect, test, and record wastewater data; respond to process issues and implement changes.
• Coordinate with management and peers; provide training to local technicians.
• Assist with safety compliance and record-keeping for regulatory reporting.
