Job summary

SCDES is seeking a Regional Water Engineering Associate to provide engineering expertise for drinking water and wastewater programs under supervision. Responsibilities include reviewing reports, inspections, and advising on environmental documents.

Travel for field visits may be required. Qualifications include a ABET-accredited engineering degree and ability to work in team, with strong communication and Microsoft Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET-accredited or equivalent accepted).
• Transcript/diploma submitted as part of the application.
• Engineering degree recognized by ABET/EAC or equivalent per SC LLR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reviews preliminary engineering reports and plans to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conducts construction and operation inspections of environmental facilities.
• Responds to complaints and investigates public inquiries.
• Assists regulated community with engineering report submissions and monitoring.
• Attends staff meetings and training as required.
