Job summary

HDR is seeking a Cross-Area Waste Business Development Lead for Colorado/Wyoming, based in Colorado with multiple locations. The role leads regional waste planning offices, develops market strategies, and advances high-value contracts across the Waste Services line.

You will collaborate with leadership to pursue projects, mentor staff, and expand HDR’s client base in Colorado and neighboring states.

Qualifications

Minimum 15 years of industry experience.
Strong self-motivation with a track record of delivering projects with limited oversight.
Deep knowledge of procurement of professional services in A/E/C.
Ability to motivate and inspire others and build client networks.
Experience in sales and developing win strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills.
Willingness to travel and engage with clients in person.

Responsibilities

Lead development and implementation of Solid Waste strategies regionally.
Identify regional market opportunities and prioritize client targets.
Cultivate relationships with HDR waste staff and clients in key locations.
Direct project pursuits: qualifications, proposals, interviews, budgets, and contracts.
Coordinate with sustainability leadership for project proposals and budgets.
Mentor planning personnel and oversee regional waste projects.
Direct billable work and project team participation as Project Manager.
Recruit and retain key staff in the waste market.
