Gilder Search Group in Spokane, WA is seeking a Regional Underwriting Manager to lead a regional team of commercial underwriters and drive underwriting operations, compliance, and strategic initiatives. The role blends in-office leadership with remote collaboration.

The candidate will manage a 5-person team, oversee guidelines, mentor underwriters, and underwrite complex risks across property, GL, auto, and agriculture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of underwriting experience in commercial/agriculture, general liability, property, and auto.
• Experience managing or leading commercial lines underwriting operations.
• Experience with commercial property, general liability, commercial auto, and agriculture underwriting.

Responsibilities

• Manage a regional commercial lines underwriting team with 5 direct reports.
• Oversee underwriting compliance, underwriting integrity, service standards, and production.
• Provide technical underwriting review, mentoring, assistance, and training to commercial lines underwriters.
• Support the interpretation and application of underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Review and underwrite complex commercial risks as needed, including property, general liability, commercial auto, and agriculture-related risks.
• Assist in developing regional business strategy, underwriting metrics, and production objectives.
• Evaluate products and services that support the regional territory and commercial insurance portfolio.
