CNA Insurance in Chicago seeks a strategic Regional Underwriting Manager to lead the Core Middle Market portfolio in the Midwest. You will develop talent, drive underwriting excellence, and deliver profitable growth across products while partnering with agents and brokers.

Working with senior leadership, you will set regional objectives, oversee underwriting authority, and build a high-performing team focused on accountability and performance. This role reports to SVP-level leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s preferred or equivalent.
• Minimum of 12 years of related work experience, with seven years in management.
• CPCU designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Owns underwriting and profitability goals for the region.
• Drive underwriting excellence and talent development.
• Partner with sales leaders to maximize growth with agents/brokers.
• Delegate authority and govern underwriting thresholds.
• Lead regional staff with focus on succession planning and performance.
• Analyze regional performance and report to management.
