Job summary

Roku is seeking a Software Engineer for the Regional TV Software team to develop and deliver software for regional TV platforms across Europe and Australia. You will collaborate with SOC vendors, assist with certification processes, and contribute to new features in a collaborative, career-growing environment.

The role emphasizes C++ development with some C, Python, and JavaScript support, and offers a hybrid work setup with a strong emphasis on cross-functional teamwork and global product

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience with C and/or C++ in a commercial environment.
• Familiarity with Python.
• Interest or exposure to embedded systems or low-level software development.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining software for regional TV platforms, with a focus on Europe and Australia.
• Collaborating with SOC vendors to support new TV projects and resolve Roku-specific technical issues.
• Supporting certification processes with organizations such as ETV, the BBC, and DTG.
• Contributing to new software projects, including requirements definition, software design, and implementation.
• Developing primarily in C++, with contributions in C, Python and Javascript as needed.
• Porting and adapting software to meet regional standards and specifications, including HbbTV.
• Troubleshooting technical issues across the software stack and working cross-functionally to resolve them.
• Participating in greenfield feature development as part of new TV platform launches.
• Leveraging AI coding assistants and agentic tools to enhance development velocity and code quality.
