Job summary

Amazon is seeking Transportation Operations Managers to work in sites across the country. The Transportation Operations Manager has complete responsibility for Transportation Operations at a number of sites within a region.

This position requires driving process improvements while meeting deadlines and motivating others in a fast-paced environment. Based in Maryville, TN, you will lead a team of managers, drive safety, quality and performance, and coordinate across shifts to meet goals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 2+ salaried employees and 70+ indirect employees.
• Experience scoping, leading, and implementing process improvements through Lean, Kaizen or Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Transportation Area Managers located within sites to streamline logistics.
• Responsible for overall safety, quality, performance and customer experience in the region.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities per policies and procedures.
• Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals.
• Strategic planning, forecasting, performance appraisal, coaching and staffing.
• Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression.
• Share best practices across shifts and network.
• Travel up to 50% may be required.
• Work varied hours including overnight, weekends and holidays.
