Job summary

Community Partners in Action (CPA) seeks a Regional Transportation Unit (RTU) Driver in Hartford, CT. The role involves safe transport of clients within the region, coordinating requests from officers, and supporting program operations as needed.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of transport experience, and a valid CT driver’s license with a clean driving record. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred to serve diverse participants within CPA’s mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience transporting individuals.
• Valid CT driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to interact with multicultural program participants; trauma-informed approach.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule; bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and coordinate transportation requests to serve as many clients as possible.
• Provide safe transportation throughout the identified region based on requests from referring/assigned officers for court-ordered defendants and Probation/Family Service clients.
• Assist with daily operations of the program as needed (e.g., transportation-related tasks).
• Maintain vehicle logs, vehicle records, and safety equipment; ensure adherence to Fire Safety Standards and First Aid supply inventory.
• Uphold agency policies and serve as a role model for staff and clients.
