Job summary

The Operations Superintendent for SENY Transmission at New York Power Authority will oversee auxiliary and operational groups supporting underground transmission and substation facilities, and the Regional Control Room for SENY. The role drives a zero-harm culture, collaborates with EH&S on human performance initiatives, and develops region-specific governance for safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electric utility power plant operations or related industry; 4 years with military background accepted.
• P.E. License preferred; demonstrated cross-department collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop employees including performance management, salary administration, succession planning and workload balancing.
• Support bargaining unit agreement to ensure effective workforce; develop bargaining unit employees and handle disciplinary steps.
• Develop short-, mid-, and long-term plans within the Regional Asset Management Plan; manage budgets and reports.
• Conduct risk analysis and develop risk response plans per Asset Management Framework.
• Identify, prioritize, and initiate projects from the Regional Asset Management Plan for strategic improvements.
• Provide site support for execution of capital and non-recurring O&M plans; oversee UOPP process.
• Lead use of Maximo, APM, DataSplice, and related systems to optimize asset management.
