Job summary

Clayton is seeking a Regional Terminal Manager to oversee oversized home shipments across the region, leading a team of four staff and 200+ drivers and pilots. You will drive on-time delivery, safety, and financial performance, reporting to the Director of Operations.

You will manage staffing, training, payroll, budgeting, incident investigations, risk management, and FMCSA compliance while coordinating with Safety and leadership to optimize operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• College degree in Business or Logistics preferred; CDL-based experience highly valued.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in Logistics/Transportation/terminal operations management.
• Strong understanding of CDL-based operations and driver workforce management.
• Understanding FMCSA Compliance and safety management systems.
• Experience managing operational and financial performance, including P&L responsibility.
• Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
• Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
• Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
• Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
• Proven ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and make critical business decisions.
• Ability to hold others accountable to Clayton standards on safety, compliance, and policy.
• Must have a positive attitude and ability to work in a team; travel 20-30% of the time.
• Proficient in Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end terminal performance, including delivery execution and service levels.
• Oversee staffing, utilization, and workforce planning.
• Lead weekly reviews with leadership to drive accountability.
• Align dispatch, driver supervisors, and field execution.
• Lead hiring and participate in interviews for drivers and staff.
• Drive early tenure retention and driver reliability.
• Coach, discipline, and terminate as needed.
• Ensure FMCSA compliance and safety practices.
• Oversee telematics performance and coaching actions.
• Investigate incidents and retrain regionally.
• Develop and implement policies; ensure consistent execution.
• Manage schedules and shipment coordination/routing.
• Report operational statistics to Senior Management.
• Own terminal financials: budgeting, forecasting, and P&L; control costs.
• Resolve customer issues to protect relationships.
