Job description

Join to apply for the Regional Special Education Manager role at ACCEL Schools.

In collaboration with the Head of Schools, Principals, and Special Education Leaders, the Special Education Manager supports compliance monitoring, professional development, and special education programming. The role involves creating appropriate programming for transfer students, supporting Extended School Year programs, and ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations. This is a virtual position, with possible in-office work throughout the year.

Eligibility: Open to residents in Wyoming, Arizona, Missouri, and Oklahoma.

About The Opportunity
  • Attend relevant trainings to stay current on regulations and best practices for assigned states.
  • Develop and facilitate professional development on Special Education topics.
  • Coordinate with enrollment teams to understand and gather documentation for newly enrolling Special Education students.
  • Review IEPs and other documents for compliance, providing feedback and coaching.
  • Assist with complex parent communications as needed.
  • Monitor compliance with timelines and data collection.
  • Participate in assessment decision-making processes.
  • Support alternative curriculum programming and assessment planning.
  • Manage supplemental program access and coordinate communication between general and special education teams.
  • Gather and enter data into state and federal systems.
  • Participate in trainings and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
About You
  • Minimum 3 years of administrative experience supporting special education in an online model.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Reliable, dependable work ethic.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage difficult situations.
  • Leadership and management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
