Job summary

Autocar Trucks is seeking a Regional Service Manager to oversee service delivery for dealerships and customers within the specified region. You will troubleshoot, guide, and ensure service quality, building strong customer relationships and coordinating with engineering and the solutions team to meet performance standards.

The role requires a mix of technical credentials, managerial acumen, and hands-on leadership across remote and field operations in the San Francisco Bay Area region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, plus 3–5 years of relevant experience/ training.
• Class B Commercial Driver License or ability to obtain.
• ASE Certification or ability to obtain; Cummins Certification preferred.
• Allison Certification preferred.
• Autocar Master Technician Certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage service delivery and customer satisfaction for assigned region.
• Develop corrective action plans with dealerships and customers to close service gaps.
• Track and report product and technical issues with Autocar Solutions Team.
• Advise dealerships on improving service operations and tooling; ensure trained technicians.
• Build and maintain relationships across customer organizations and with regional business managers.
• Coordinate with engineering and technical service to meet performance and quality specifications.
• Coordinate cost-effective, self-managed travel schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

The Regional Service Manager position is responsible for managing all aspects of service for dealerships and customers and ensures satisfaction with service work. Assist customers and dealers with troubleshooting and repair of service-related problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall service delivery performance levels and customer satisfaction levels of assigned Region.
• Assists in developing corrective action plans with assigned dealerships and customers to close any service delivery gaps identified.
• Tracks, reports and follows-up on product and technical issues for dealerships and customers by proactively working with Autocar Solutions Team
• Gives dealerships suggestions on improving their service department by reviewing dealer service operations to include required tooling, Promote and ensure dealership has Autocar trained technicians to handle workload.
• Develops and manages strong relationships at all levels of the customer’s organization and maintains customer confidence in the Autocar product.
• Develop strong relationships with Regional Business Managers and National Account Sales in their region
• Coordinates with engineering and technical service departments to develop and ensure that service performance and quality specifications are met.
• Coordinates cost effective, self-managed travel schedules.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Class B- Commercial Driver License or ability to obtain is required.
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification or ability to obtain is required.Cummins Certification is preferred.
• Allison Certification is preferred.
• Ability to Autocar Master Technician Certification

Experience

• Previous experience in the Heavy-Duty Truck industry is required, specific experience in the Refuse industry is preferred.

Skills

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• A thorough working knowledge of:
• MS Office
• AXIS (Team Center Engineering - IMAN, QAD, ADNET) preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods while working on computer-aided design software.
• Capable of standing, walking, and bending during lab testing or production floor visits.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, such as electrical components or testing equipment.
• Visual acuity for reviewing detailed schematics, inspecting prototypes, and using computer screens.
