Job summary

Hussmann in Omaha, NE seeks an Area Service Manager to lead service operations for our customer base within a district. You will own service execution, manage a team, and drive profitability across contracts, emergency service, and renewals.

The role emphasizes safety culture, budget forecasting, and cross‑functional collaboration with sales, operations, and finance. Occasional travel and flexible hours are required as you support 24/7 service needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience.
• Working knowledge of basic refrigeration and/or knowledge of commercial refrigeration and HVAC is preferred.
• Strong leadership and business acumen.
• Strong background in management/leadership function.
• Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities/tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written, required.
• Demonstrated ability to engage in high pressure situations with effective stress management skills.
• Frequent 24/7 availability.
• Strong organizational, time management skills.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Flexibility to work outside normal working hours, as required.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Travel within region as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage service operations for the customer base within a district, including service contracts, emergency service, renewals, warranty, and change requests.
• Own and drive customer satisfaction, including relationships, business development, issue resolution, and timely service.
• Develop and execute safety culture across Service Operations, including inspections and risk mitigation.
• Identify service requirements and plan jobs to maintain profitability.
• Forecast budgets and oversee project budgets; identify cost savings and risk controls.
• Periodize schedules to align with contracts and customer needs.
• Create and review contracts and estimates with risk analysis.
• Conduct performance appraisals and manage hiring, promotion, and disciplinary processes.
• Support coaching and onboarding of new Service team members.
• Analyze market conditions and data trends to maintain strong Service performance and relations.
• Coordinate interdepartmental collaboration for process improvements and invoicing/collections.
