Job summary

Continental is seeking a Regional Senior Cybersecurity Coordinator to drive the implementation and continuous improvement of cybersecurity standards across the region. You will act as the interface between global and local teams, ensuring alignment with the cybersecurity strategy and strong security posture.

In this role you will translate global rules into regional plans, support incident response and risk management, and coordinate cross-functional projects with local IT teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or 5+ years of relevant experience if no degree.
• Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity technologies.
• Good knowledge of network technologies (Network, Firewall architecture).
• Fluent in English and strong written communication.

The Regional Senior Cybersecurity Coordinator supports the implementation and continuous improvement of global cybersecurity standards, policies, and operational practices across the region. Acting as the coordinating interface between the global and local cybersecurity organizations. This person works closely with the central cybersecurity teams and is an integral part of the global cybersecurity team. This role secures alignment with the company’s cybersecurity strategy, supports security initiatives, and helps maintain a strong security posture throughout the region

This position requires a blend of technical cybersecurity understanding, awareness of regulations, strong process and documentation skills, and solid project coordination capabilities to ensure successful execution of regional cybersecurity activities. This role requires excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, non-technical language for business stakeholders, as well as the ability to guide discussions efficiently and gain consensus.

Governance, Standards & Compliance

• Acts as the IT Emergency Team Lead within the region and is part of the global Tires IT Emergency Management team. The role is responsible for the roll‑out, update, review, tracking and reporting of the local IT Emergency process, tools, handbooks, contact lists and other related documents like Disaster Recovery and Backup & Recovery handbooks. The role ensures the testing of the processes, organizes local and participates in central tabletop exercises.
• Supports the rollout and enforcement of global cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures within the region.
• Creates awareness that the regional implementation aligns with legal, regulatory, and customer requirements.
• Assists with audit activities and self‑assessments, including addressing control gaps or audit findings (e.g., TISAX). Ensure that all internal and external audit findings are resolved through effective remediation plans and tracks their fulfillment.

Regional Coordination & Stakeholder Alignment

• Translates global cybersecurity rules into actionable regional and local plans, ensuring operational feasibility and stakeholder buy in. Provide subject matter guidance to local teams on cybersecurity practices and expectations.

• Raise the demand of cybersecurity process improvement
• Collaborate closely with Central Cybersecurity Coordinators, Central and regional MTE Coordinators, and further business functions to support securing operations.

Technical & Operational Support

• Vulnerability & Incident Management

  The Regional Cybersecurity Coordinator is responsible for the Vulnerability mitigation tracking and escalation within the region. The role is the contact person for the regional and local IT organization and supports the Vulnerability Management process in the respective locations.

  The role supports Cybersecurity Incident response activities in the region. Participate in incident response activities, coordinating with the global incident response teams and local IT teams.

• Cybersecurity Risk Management:

  Support as a regional Cybersecurity coordinator the local Risk owners. Leading the implementation and improvement of Cybersecurity risk management processes and follow up of measures. Support Cybersecurity risk reporting process in the locations as part of the overall Risk reporting. Continuously analyze implemented Risk processes. Identifying local improvements and deviations.

Project & Initiative Coordination

• Coordinate and execute the regional rollout of global cybersecurity initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with global roadmaps.
• Track and improve the performance of the regional implementation of global cybersecurity programs through global structured KPIs and reporting.

Awareness, Training & Culture

• Support delivery of global and regional security awareness programs, phishing campaigns, and training activities.
• Coordinate local execution, communications, and follow‑up actions to ensure employee engagement.
• Help identify local and regional training gaps and recommend improvements or targeted activities.

Reporting & Metrics

• Address the demand of regional and local cybersecurity metrics to get structured reporting from KPIs, compliance, maturity, and risk.
• Use data insights to recommend improvements

Cost Tracking & Implementation Support

• Support the collection, consolidation, and reporting of cybersecurity implementation costs across the region, including labor, materials, and project-related expenses.

• Work with local IT teams, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure accurate cost estimates to ensure availability of Budget for cybersecurity related activities.

• Provide regional cost visibility to management to support budgeting, forecasting, and return on investment.
