Job summary

DATTCO is hiring experienced and fully licensed School Bus Travel Drivers for CT locations. Safely transport students on assigned routes, conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and follow all safety procedures and district requirements.

Regional travel is expected with 40 hours guaranteed and additional hours may be available through manager coordination. Applicants must be at least 21, have 3+ years driving, hold a CT CDL Class B with P and S endorsements, and meet CT DMV and DOT/FMCSA

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have at least three consecutive years of driving experience with a valid driver’s license.
• Must have an acceptable driving record and meet CT DMV standards.
• Must possess a CT CDL Class B with P and S endorsements; out-of-state CDL may qualify.
• Must meet DOT/FMCSA medical qualification standards with a valid DOT medical certificate.
• Must complete pre-employment screenings including fingerprinting and background checks.
• Must participate in DOT/FMCSA random drug and alcohol testing as applicable.
• Must complete CT DMV school bus training and related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school on assigned routes.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report safety concerns.
• Follow routes, railroad procedures, pickup/drop-off protocols, and safety requirements.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment for students while operating the bus.
• Communicate professionally with students, families, school staff, and supervisors.
• Complete required safety training, drills, and continuing education.
