Summary:

PVS Nolwood is seeking a Regional Sales Representative to grow profitable business and maintain established customer relationships. Reporting to the Sales Manager, this position manages territory sales activities, develops new accounts, and expands product sales within existing accounts. Success requires proactive field activity, disciplined prospecting, and coordination with internal teams to meet customer needs and territory growth goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a territory sales plan to meet or exceed budgeted revenue, volume, pricing, and gross margin goals.
  • Manage established accounts through regular face-to-face meetings, strategic account planning, and timely follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate contract and pricing records and communicate company policies and commercial updates.
  • Identify and pursue new business through targeted lead generation, cold calling, customer referrals, and a documented prospecting plan.
  • Expand product penetration within existing accounts and identify new applications and technical solutions.
  • Coordinate sales opportunities with the Sales Manager, Product Managers, Technical Services, Purchasing, and Operations to align customer requirements with supply and service capabilities.
  • Build a thorough understanding of PVS Nolwood products, their features and benefits, customer applications, and competing products and suppliers.
  • Prepare and present proposals and solutions, coordinate quotes, and follow opportunities through to completion. Maintain accurate customer, activity, and opportunity records in the customer relationship management system (CRM).
  • Provide weekly call reports and other requested sales information.
  • Build customer relationships through meetings, meals, company-sponsored events, and other approved engagement activities that support retention and business development.
  • Partner with Customer Service and Customer Support, which handle order entry and order management, to support customers while maintaining a focus on selling.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Plan for approximately 3.5–4 days per week of direct customer-facing field activity, including customer visits, site assessments, presentations, and prospecting. Use the remaining 1–1.5 days for planning, quotes, CRM updates, and internal coordination.
  • Schedule field activity proactively and record each visit’s purpose, outcome, and follow-up actions in CRM. Complete meaningful customer interactions daily across visits, calls, and other direct outreach.
  • Each interaction should advance a sale, address a customer need, or develop an actionable opportunity.
  • Document customer interactions in CRM within 24 hours.
  • Dedicate 50%–75% of sales time to new business development, including new customer acquisition, expanded product sales within existing accounts, and new applications or technical solutions.
  • Develop new accounts annually that meet company profitability and volume criteria and align with regional strategy. Maintain a documented opportunity pipeline with clear next steps, and plan prospecting activities weekly.
  • Review revenue growth, tonnage growth, and gross margin performance with the Sales Manager monthly, quarterly, and annually using standardized dashboards.
  • Use approved customer engagement resources purposefully and track activity in relation to account growth, retention, and opportunity progress.
Education and Experience
  • Sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred; a degree is not required.
Skills and Leadership Attributes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver formal presentations to groups.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload independently.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to balance customer needs, supply chain constraints, operational requirements, and company objectives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and achieve results through influence, sound reasoning, and negotiation.
  • Personal accountability, initiative, and a consistent focus on achieving results.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications, with the ability to maintain accurate CRM records.
